As an undergraduate Psychology student at The College of New Jersey, I participated in an internship to develop hands-on experience with people’s real mental health struggles. Knowing little, but having an interest in learning more, I applied to work with a local eating disorder hospital program. A few phone calls and an interview later and I was accepted! Within a few weeks of starting my internship, I pretty much knew this is what I wanted to do. The people, their stories, and the hopeful changes that I saw pointed me down the path that brings me to where I am today.
That internship was in 2010 – a long time ago! Since then, I’ve been busy building my skills and learning from my mentors, peers, and most importantly, my clients. I’ve worked at a number of highly reputable eating disorder treatment centers in the tri-state area all while taking in as many great learning experiences as possible. I’ve made it a point to serve people with eating disorders at all levels of care: medical hospital, residential, PHP, IOP, as well as weekly traditional outpatient office visits. This means I understand the spectrum of issues that you may face, and I know how to guide you in the right direction.
As a result of focusing my career on treating people with eating disorders, I have had to learn how to treat… well, a lot of other problems! I’ve become skillful in handling co-occurring or stand-alone conditions such as anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma, family issues, relationship problems, and depression. Rest assured that regardless of where you are in your process, I will do everything I can to help.
