Hi, I’m Joe Sciarretta. Welcome to Dovetail Counseling Group.

Let me start by saying “congratulations” on taking a big first step towards feeling better – looking for the right help.

Having heard so many people’s stories, I know how hard it can be to find a therapist you just “click” with. With that struggle in mind, I have stuck to the principle of “meeting people where they’re at” – so whether you’re starting off scared, excited, unsure, or something else entirely, I know I can help.

My areas of specialty include helping people struggling with Eating Disorders, OCD, Anxiety, and Depression. I've also supported people dealing with Relationship Issues, Life Transitions, and a wide variety of other problems.

If you're not sure where to begin, give the office a call at 908-837-1251, or Contact Me here through our site. I personally respond to each outreach (often within a few hours or on the same business day) and offer FREE phone consultations to discuss your unique situation.

Freedom is possible, with the right help.

Check out the sections below for more information on how we help people heal.

Eating Disorders

Body image issues and unhealthy eating patterns can be very disruptive to a happy life. We work with a wide variety of eating disorders, such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, disordered eating, avoidant-restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), compulsive exercising, and orthorexia. We help our clients develop new patterns of thinking and acting to break eating disorder cycles.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a very misunderstood illness. People often joke that they are "so OCD" when they simply tend to like things to be organized. Real OCD, which is characterized by intrusive thoughts and ritualistic actions, can be an excruciatingly painful way to go through day-to-day life. We support our clients as they fight back and take control of their minds again.

Anxiety, Anxiety Disorders, & Stress

While most people refer to "anxiety" as a kind of simple worrying, it can be much more serious. Symptoms that indicate your anxiety is starting to escalate can include non-stop worrying, panic attacks, spiraling thoughts, or a racing heart. When anxiety starts getting in the way of your daily life, or your happiness, counseling can be a very effective way of addressing anxiety and anxiety disorders.
